Zeelandia – Deliverance

May 7 – Shakedown in Charlevoix – Sunny, light breeze and cool

May 8-11 – Charlevoix to Sarnia – Ships, cold, thunderstorms in distance 60% sailing 40% motoring

May 11-12 – Sarnia to Leamington (spent one day in port – Leamington) – Major storm when entering Erie, 7 hours of hellfire, limp into Leaminton in morning to lick wounds.

May 13-15 – Leamington to Port Colborne (spent one day in port – Port Colborne) – Thick fog and calm winds, motor for 34 hours straight. Ships in fog very scary!!

May 16 – Port Colborne to Toronto – Welland Canal went well, very easy. ArriveĀ  in home port, CBYC, around 11pm. Nice to be home!!

Zeelandia – splashdown!

I spent the week of April 22-30 in a cold storage barn, living and working on the boat while the rain and winds kicked up a fuss outside. By the time the week was done the bottom was sanded and painted (Pettit Trinidad pro green, 1 coat, 1 gallon) 3 new group 31 batteries installed the diesel was running, the sun finally shone and she was ready for launch.
